Experts from 15 Countries Presented Scientific Papers on the Economy of the Western Balkans

The two-day International Conference on Economics and Social Sciences, ICESOS'15, which was held in Sarajevo, organized by the International Burch University and partners, has concluded today, reports the Patria News Agency.

The working title of this, the third ICESoS'15 conference, is "Regional Economic Development", and 165 participants from 15 countries are presenting 140 scientific papers that address the very current economic issues of the Western Balkans.

The goal of the conference is to create a positive impact on regional economic cooperation and the creation of a healthy economic environment, efficient use of resources in the region, the creation of integrated economic centers in tourism, finance, and production, as well as increasing the employment rate and prosperity in the region.

ICESoS'15 brought together a large number of experts and academics from the region and beyond, including participants from Switzerland, Great Britain, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkey, Macedonia, as well as countries from the region such as Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Albania, and BiH. Burch University organized this conference together with the Universities of Tuzla, Zenica, and East Sarajevo as local partners, and Epoka University from Albania and the Faculty of Economics from Podgorica as international partners.

The past success of this conference, held three times so far, includes over 300 published scientific papers on the topic of the Balkan economy. This year's papers will be published in the form of a book titled "Regional Economic Development in the Balkan Region", in cooperation with Cambridge Scholars Publishing, which is another significant recognition for the organizers.

The keynote speakers at the conference were Almir Jazvin from the Prevent Group, Branimir Muidža, manager of the Heidelberg Cement Group, and Dr. Muharem H. Karamujić from the University of Sarajevo. Edward Ferguson, the British Ambassador to BiH, also spoke at the conference.

The working part of the conference concluded today, and all participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty and tourist attractions of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday, April 25, according to a statement from the International Burch University.
