Eco Action: Buroj Ozone has no construction permit

The citizens' association "Eko akcija" issued a press release stating that the public has been misled by today's laying of the foundation stone for the construction of the Buroj Ozone complex in Trnovo on Bjelašnica.

- Contrary to the investors' announcements, nothing is ready for the construction of the City. Due to the planned size of the residential settlement of over 140 hectares, according to the provisions of the Law on Environmental Protection of FBiH, the Law on Construction of FBiH and relevant bylaws, in order for the investor to obtain a construction permit at all, they were obliged to request the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism to conduct an environmental impact assessment procedure - state Eko akcija.

The situation is further complicated by the fact that the locality of the planned settlement Prečko polje is in the water protection zone of the Bijela rijeka spring, which, according to relevant studies and the Spatial Plan of Sarajevo Canton for the period from 2003 to 2023, is intended to be used for the water supply of the city of Sarajevo. in the post-planning period, after 2023.

Given the possible impact of the future settlement on the Bijela rijeka springs, as well as the proximity of the planned National Park "Igman, Bjelašnica, Treskavica, Visočica", that procedure would necessarily require the issuance of an environmental permit, preceded by an environmental impact study.

In this case, none of that has been done; moreover, the investor has not even contacted the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism. Thus, the Eko akcija Association received a response from the relevant Ministry in May this year that no document, inquiry, or request for an environmental permit for the construction project of the tourist settlement named Buroj Ozone in Trnovo has been submitted to them.

Bearing this in mind, all activities at the site are illegal.
