Egypt forms crisis group as Iran attacks Israel

(Patria) - Egypt has formed a crisis group to monitor developments following Iran's retaliation for the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria on April 1, reports Teheran Times.

As reported by Al Qahera News, the crisis group operates 24 hours a day and regularly informs the Egyptian President about the situation in the region.

"The crisis group... is closely monitoring the situation and submitting hourly reports to President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi," the channel said, citing a high-ranking security official.

In addition, Egyptian air defense is on maximum alert after Iran launched drone and missile attacks on Israel, Al-Qahera News, a TV channel close to the intelligence services, reported late Saturday evening.
