SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Mayor of Novi Grad Municipality, Semir Efendić, has launched a petition among the citizens of Saraj Polje and Dobrinja, demanding that the Sarajevo Canton Government reduce the rent for the use of upper floors of garages to 20 KM and improve the maintenance of garages managed by the public utility company RAD.
Efendić stated that if KJKP Rad is unable to reduce the rent and invest funds in the maintenance of the garages themselves, they should be handed over to the management of the Novi Grad Municipality, which will undertake the necessary work.
Furthermore, it will be requested that the KS Government enact a decree that will enable municipalities to regulate the area of stationary traffic through their own regulations.
"This way, order would be introduced in parking within existing parking spaces in settlements through marking and numbering of parking spaces, and ensuring at least one parking space per residential unit. The petition will be organized through local communities over the next two weeks, with local community representatives visiting all residential units in these settlements after working hours," Efendić stated.
Residents will be informed about the dates for collecting signatures through floor owners as well as written notices that will be posted at the entrances of all buildings.
The photographs published by Efendić show dilapidated cars on the upper floors of the garages, garbage containers that KJKP Rad deposits there for some reason, and the state of war damage to the garages, into which not a single mark has been invested since the war.
