Ef. Velić: ISIS was formed in centers of power, their goal is to make Islam repulsive to coming generations

Idolatry has taken on different forms today, it manifests through centers of power that are worshipped, lodges that rule, money, power, worship of man, idols, warns the Sarajevo imam and publicist Muhamed ef Velić, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

He is disgusted, he says, by the fact that ISIS members in some museum in a newly conquered Muslim city destroyed and smashed museum statues, thinking that by this act they were saving the Ummah from dangerous shirk and hateful idolatry. However, something like that, Velić explains, is very wrong.

- When the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (peace be upon him), entered and conquered Mecca in the eighth year of Hijra, he found 365 idols and statues in the Kaaba, which polytheists worshipped and bowed to. These were real statues and idols. As he was knocking them down, he recited verses from Surah Isra: "And say: Truth has come, and falsehood has gone. Indeed, falsehood is ever vanishing."

Do we then doubt the completeness of the mission of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), who finished and completely destroyed that kind of idolatry?! He recited: "And say: Truth has come, and falsehood is ever vanishing!" - explains Velić.

Today, he warns, idolatry has taken on different forms, it manifests in other forms and ways: through centers of power that are worshipped, lodges that rule, money, power, anthropocentrism, worship of man, human icons and idols, etc.

- People bow to these new statues and idols, to these idols in ideologies and all sorts of isms. And stone statues are ridiculous and unimportant in that context.

Similarly, when the great Muslim commander Amr ibn al-As conquered Egypt in 640 AD, he could have ordered his army and companions to destroy the Sphinx in Giza with sledgehammers, but he did not. He left it for admonishment and lesson, to show how those who did not accept the Prophets of Allah (peace be upon them) fared. It was only much later that French soldiers damaged it.

The companion Amr did not destroy but built; he founded Fustat and built a large mosque that bears his name today. And all this was during the reign of the just Caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab.

And today, one needs to be smarter and a greater Muslim than the companions themselves, subhanallah!

And this stain that ISIS members are putting on Muslims through mass killings and burning people alive will take time and generations to wash away. Because, what they are doing is actually trying to make Islam and Muslims repulsive to the coming generations.

That is why I believe that they were created and formed in those centers of power whose goal and tendency is precisely that.
