Educational Workshop: Practice of Dyslipidemia Treatment

An educational workshop on "Dyslipidemia" was held today at the Bristol Hotel in Sarajevo, organized by the Cardiology Educational Center Sarajevo in cooperation with Krka, writes the news agency Patria.

Dyslipidemia, or lipid disorder, is the name for a disorder of fats.

The workshop discussed lipid disorders, so-called dyslipidemias, in order to explain and present the standards governing modern medicine regarding lipid levels, the history of lipid development, lipid metabolism, guidelines on lipids from the European Society of Cardiology, and the Diabetic Society. The postulates in the practice of treating dyslipidemias were also discussed.

Assistant Professor Dr. Mehmed Kulić, employed at the University Clinical Center Sarajevo, Institute for Heart Diseases, Head of the Cardiology Clinic, and President of the Citizens' Association Cardiology Educational Center Sarajevo, told NAP that such a one-day meeting is one of the set goals of the Cardiology Educational Center Association.

- In cooperation with Krka, this is our second meeting. The first meeting was last year and it was about hypertension. We have had positive cooperation with other pharmaceutical companies as well – says Kulić.

The Citizens' Association Cardiology Educational Center Sarajevo is engaged in educating young doctors, subspecialists, specialists, and subspecialists in cardiology about the risks of cardiovascular diseases, as well as medical postulates and harmonizing knowledge among specialists from different disciplines according to modern cardiology postulates.

The Cardiology Educational Center is involved in helping vulnerable residents, and in cooperation with the Ministry for Displaced Persons and Refugees, they visit returnee villages and examine people who need it, and those with social needs receive social aid packages in cooperation with the aforementioned ministry.
