Džaferović: Russian troops have no business in BiH, EUFOR and NATO are here

Šefik Džaferović, member of the BiH Presidency, responding to Russian media reports asking if it's time for the Russian Federation to send peacekeeping forces to BiH again, stated that this is an unnecessary heating up of an already volatile political situation in BiH, which, he claims, if such statements and announcements continue, can only lead to security destabilization and is in no one's interest.

“It is known which soldiers from international forces are present in BiH and only those soldiers can be in BiH. That is, therefore, EUFOR. It is known that BiH cooperates with NATO and that NATO has an obligation to protect the territorial integrity of BiH under the Dayton Peace Agreement, and those are the Armed Forces of BiH. And no other military forces can or will be in BiH,” Džaferović stated.
