Džaferović and Dodik explained where budget savings were made

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Šefik Džaferović, confirmed after today's extraordinary session that the Draft Budget of BiH institutions and financing of international obligations was adopted unanimously.

The total budget is around 1.8 billion KM, of which 996 million is for financing BiH institutions, and about 803 million for servicing BiH's international debt.

"The only change that occurred is a change concerning the capital expenditures of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH. We followed the logic that the Council of Ministers had when determining the Draft Budget. Today, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers said, and it follows from the text of the Budget itself, that the procurement of any cars for all institutions in BiH has been suspended, except for security agencies, that the items related to other expenses, representation, telephones, and so on, have been reduced by 50 percent for all institutions, except for security institutions," stated Džaferović, adding that savings will also be made on the procurement of furniture and materials.

The budget will be proposed to the Parliamentary Assembly under an urgent procedure and will be submitted to the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH during the day.

Given that the session of the House of Representatives of the PS BiH is scheduled for July 7, it is expected that the Budget will be adopted then.

Milorad Dodik noted that the Presidency of BiH reduced some items in the Budget, achieved savings, and that about 41 million KM was provided for the recovery from the consequences of the coronavirus epidemic. - re

4,227,000 KM is planned in the budget for holding local elections in BiH.

The Draft Law on the Budget also plans for servicing external debt, which amounts to 807,552,931 KM, which is 18.2 million KM less compared to the previous year.
