Double murder in Sarajevo, police arrest one person

Police have arrested one person suspected of being connected to the double murder that occurred early this morning in Stari Grad, Sarajevo, confirmed to Patria by the Ministry of Interior of Canton Sarajevo.

Two people were killed in a shooting in Sarajevo that took place just after midnight. The individuals, whose identities have not yet been disclosed by the police, were shot dead with a firearm. The part of the city where the incident occurred has been blocked since this morning. Police are asking citizens to report any information that could help shed light on this case.

This is not the first murder this year in Sarajevo. The use of firearms is increasingly common on the streets of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, NAP reports.

- At the scene, police officers found A.V., born in 1992 from Vogošća, who stated that he was a witness to the event and that he knows one of the deceased persons is Ć.A., born in 1989 from Sarajevo, while the other person is H.E., born in 1990 from Sarajevo.

Working on the investigation of the said criminal offense, police officers of the First Police Station - Stari Grad, in Braće Eskenazi Street bb, at the premises of a police officer of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, found B.S., born in 1991 from Sarajevo, as well as the object used in the commission of the said criminal offense, an automatic rifle. The same person was deprived of liberty and brought to the Stari Grad Police Station - said the Ministry of Interior of Canton Sarajevo.
