Double murderer Aleksa Mican escaped from Zenica prison

(Patria) - Convicted of double murder, Aleksa Mican escaped from Zenica prison - more precisely, he did not return from leave.

The newly appointed director of the Zenica Penitentiary (KPZ) Rusmir Isak told Faktor that Mican was supposed to return from leave yesterday, and since he did not, a warrant has been issued for him.

Isak says he has just taken over the position of director of KPZ Zenica, and upon taking over, he learned that Mican was missing. He added that Mican had previously used out-of-prison benefits.

- Approval was given for him to use leave after the necessary opinions were obtained. The Ministry of Internal Affairs gave a positive opinion, educators - Isak explains, and reiterates that he was not the one who signed the approval, but the previous director.

Mican was convicted after he murdered Senad Lepirica from Bugojno and Adem Ćatić, employees of the company "IT Computers", in 2004 in an apartment he rented in the Mojmilo neighborhood, and then stole five laptops. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
