Two-hour drama in Belgrade: 2-year-old girl abducted and returned to parents, abductors arrested

A two-year-old girl was abducted in Belgrade around noon today, while she was with her mother, reports blic.rs, as conveyed by the BH News Agency Patria.

Two hours later, police arrested a woman and a man at the "Šimanovci" toll ramp, and the abducted child was found in their car. The abductors were speaking to each other in Spanish, and it is unknown if they understand Serbian.

The police immediately blocked the exits from Belgrade to find the abductors.

The kidnappers were in a grey BMW 5 Series car with foreign license plates, most likely Romanian. In the car were a blonde girl and a man around 45 years old. They stopped a woman on the street and snatched the child from her arms.

Vera Nedeljković, an eyewitness to the abduction, explained that a man dressed in black approached the mother who was walking with the child.

He roughly pushed the mother, she fell on the asphalt, then he snatched the child from her arms, put her in the car and drove away - says Vera Nedeljković.

The abductors, a man and a woman, tried to break through a police ramp near Šimanovci on the Belgrade-Šid highway when the police stopped them.

The police immediately took a picture of the child and sent it to the father to confirm if it was the abducted girl.

Damir, the father of the abducted girl M. (2), who appeared in Braće Jerković street shortly after the abduction, identified the child, and the two-hour drama ended. After that conversation, he went to the Belgrade police.
