Two sessions of the BiH Parliament: Law on Deposit Insurance in BiH Banks and excise duties again in focus

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Deputies of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue the regular session interrupted last month, and a new session is planned after it.

At the new session, deputies are expected to declare themselves on the request of MPs from the Serb Democratic Party (SDS) club for the consideration of amendments to the Law on Excise Duties, which provide for a reduction in excise duties on fuel and the repeal of the law adopted in December.

Tolls were then increased by 15 feninga plus VAT, and this proposal would reduce fuel prices per liter by 18 feninga or 10 KM per tank, while the proposers claim that the money collected so far, around 100 million KM, has not been directed towards road construction.

The Bill on Deposit Insurance in BiH Banks and the Bill on Amendments to the Law on the BiH Flag are also on the agenda of the session.

The Bill on Deposit Insurance in BiH Banks is part of the reforms requested by the IMF.

It is expected that the amendments to the Law on Deposit Insurance of BiH will be adopted in the BiH parliament because this law is primarily important for our banking sector.
