Two workers of the Railways of Republika Srpska were injured in a railway accident that occurred this morning near Ljeskov Vode. One of the workers sustained serious injuries and was kept at the Doboj hospital, while the other was released for home treatment, reports the Patria news agency.
As reported by the portal zepce.ba, this railway accident occurred around 9:25 AM on the Doboj - Banja Luka railway line, when a freight train hit a track vehicle that was moving along the track from the direction of Ostružnja.
The Railways of Republika Srpska confirmed that a direct collision occurred, and that two workers from the track vehicle were injured.
The head of the Surgical Services Department at the Doboj hospital, Igor Nović, confirmed in a statement to journalists that the more seriously injured worker is out of life-threatening danger and sustained a fracture of the left upper arm. The other worker has minor head injuries and an ankle sprain.
The Railways of Republika Srpska confirmed that investigative authorities and the Commission for Extraordinary Events are at the site of the railway accident to determine the cause of the collision.
