Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs spokesperson Irfan Nefić told reporters that a building structure collapsed at Hiseta Street number 11, in Marijin Dvor, and that two people were killed and one seriously injured in the process, writes the Patria News Agency.
- One person who died was transported to the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo (KCUS), while the other was directly transported to the Emergency Medical Service. The third injured person is also admitted to KCUS where they are undergoing treatment.
A prosecutor is on site leading the investigation, along with court experts in construction and occupational safety, Nefić said.
He added that he cannot provide more information at this moment until the court experts provide their final findings.
As Fahrudin Solak, Director of the Federal Civil Protection Administration (FUCZ), confirmed at the end, fortunately, there are no other people under the rubble. Given that the road is busy, it was feared that some accidental passers-by might have been injured.
