Since nine o'clock this morning, the decision on the state of emergency has been in force in the Municipality of Srebrenica. There are no endangered human lives, but sections of regional roads towards Bratunac and Zvornik are cut off, said Ćamil Duraković, Mayor of the Municipality of Srebrenica, for the BH News Agency.
- All institutions, facilities, and companies operating in the Municipality of Srebrenica have been mobilized. By a special act, we have mobilized all construction companies that have machinery to go to the field. We have problems in every part of the municipality, not just in Potočari - Duraković said.
He notes that this is a large municipality of 527 square meters, and it is difficult to satisfy everyone at the same time.
- We are slowly resolving the problem. Some things we have to let go as they are, only when the water level drops can we intervene. Damage has been done to buildings and farms. The goal is to protect human lives - Duraković said.
Due to heavy rainfall and floods, certain areas are without electricity, but interventions are not possible.
- Elektrodistribucija has orders not to carry out any interventions anywhere due to floods, for fear of any loss of human life. The city has electricity, some places do not, but as soon as conditions allow, work will be done on repairing cables - Duraković said.
Duraković noted that the weather forecast is not favorable and that precipitation is expected in the coming days. Although the second meeting of the Organizational Committee for the July 11th commemoration was scheduled for today, it had to be canceled due to impassable road communications, NAP reports.
