Long guns back on Dubrovnik streets: Major anti-drug smuggling operation underway

Due to a police operation, which according to unofficial information, is aimed at suppressing drug smuggling, special police forces with automatic weapons appeared on the streets of Dubrovnik on Friday, reports the Patria News Agency.

The Dubrovnik police only confirmed to Hina that they "are finalizing a very significant operational action" and that they will provide details later.

Police officers with long guns were seen and recorded 'by camera' at several locations in the city. According to local media, the port of Gruž was blocked, among other places, where customs officers allegedly boarded a cruise ship.

In the Dubrovnik area over the past year, several international operations have been recorded in which several smugglers of various types of drugs were arrested. The last operation, in May, was Gladius 3, writes Index.
