DUDAKOVIĆ AND OTHERS: BiH Prosecutor's Office Hiding Evidence, Citing Material Scanning

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The defense teams of all 14 defendants in the ongoing trial of Atif Dudaković and others, accused of crimes in several municipalities in the Krajina region, had no cross-examination questions for the BiH Prosecutor's Office witness Selver Vojić.

We remind you that Vojić, testifying at the invitation of the BiH Prosecutor's Office on April 10, stated that Simo Tuševljak had suggested what he should say, that inspectors from the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) had introduced him to Tuševljak, and that Tuševljak had financially assisted him multiple times, and that he had been a SIPA associate for a period.

Prosecutor Marijana Čobović presented the Trial Chamber with correspondence from police agencies, including SIPA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, the Federal Police Administration, and the Intelligence-Security Agency, stating that Vojić was not their associate.

- The witness gave a statement in 2009. We want to prove that he was telling the truth then and that he changed his statement at the main hearing - said Prosecutor Čobović, adding that SIPA inspectors mentioned by the witness in the courtroom would also be heard later.

Although the Trial Chamber ordered the State Prosecutor's Office to provide all evidence to the Defense within ten days, the CDs have not yet been delivered. The BiH Prosecutor's Office stated that the material is currently being scanned and will be delivered by the end of June, writes Detektor.ba.

Prosecutor Čobović proposed that, in addition to the written record of the witness's hearing at SIPA premises on May 14, 2009, an audio recording of that hearing also be included, to which the Defense teams objected.

- There are no legal grounds for admitting the audio recording, as it is not an integral part of the witness hearing record, nor is it mentioned in the indictment - said defense attorney Lejla Čović.

The trial continues on May 22.
