(Patria) - The Independent Union of State Employees and Workers in BiH Institutions organized a protest today in Sarajevo on the plateau in front of state institutions.
According to Salih Karčić, president of the Union of Independent State Employees and Workers in BiH Institutions, this is the seventh protest they are organizing, and it has the same goals as the previous six.
"We are demanding the signing of a collective agreement. We are the only country in Europe that does not have a collective agreement signed with state employees. Furthermore, the base for calculating salaries is 535 KM and it was set in 2009. At that time, the consumer basket was 1,400 KM, and in August it amounted to 2,900 KM. You can imagine how we live on our salaries then," Karčić stated at today's protest.
The union reminded that they had addressed the Presidency, the Council of Ministers, the leaders of ruling parties, the international community, the OHR, and all embassies, but all of them ignored the demands, and did not even respond.
