
(Patria) - According to Iranian state media, Ayatollah Khamenei was killed in his office in the early morning hours of Saturday.
After his death, 40 days of public mourning will be declared in Iran, while seven days will be non-working days across the country.
Several hours earlier, former US President Donald Trump announced on social media that Khamenei was killed in US-Israeli attacks, which hit at least four buildings within the supreme leader's complex in Tehran.
The news of his death has now been confirmed by Iranian news agencies Tasnim News Agency and Fars News Agency.
Earlier, news was released about the casualties among his family members and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
