Second attack on Mehmed Kuljančić in Vlasenica in just two months

Bosniak returnee Mehmed Kuljančić was attacked in Vlasenica today around 1 p.m. after heading to town from his home, reports the Patria news agency.

Mehmed Kuljančić (21), who was severely beaten by a group of Serbs less than two months ago, was saved today only by the presence of a police officer nearby, preventing a more serious incident.

Kuljančić reported the case to the police, stating that he was attacked solely because he is a Bosniak, and that his attackers threatened to slit his throat if they ever encountered him again in the town center.

- Politics is behind all of this. They are trying to provoke me into causing an incident, so they can then claim that Bosniak returnees are extremists and give local politicians a reason for new arrests – Kuljančić told the Patria agency.

According to his claims, Kuljančić was attacked by Srđan Stevanović and Neđo Ribić, who also express hatred towards Bosniaks on social media, and whom Kuljančić says he has known for some time.
