Maja Bajrić's second solo exhibition from February 28 in Sarajevo

The second solo exhibition of academic painter Maja Bajrić will open on February 28 at the Books.ba bookstore in Sarajevo, at Trg heroja 7 Street. The exhibition will be displayed for seven days.

Bajrić will exhibit works conceived on the theme of "Philosophy of Elements".

The works symbolically represent the four elements - fire, water, air, and earth. Each painting depicts a male figure that symbolically represents one of the elements, placed in an environment intended to evoke the life segments that the given element represents on a biological, emotional, and intellectual level, according to the author's opinion and feeling. This is precisely why this cycle is called "Philosophy of Elements", encompassing and representing various segments of the given element, primarily the abstract ones. In terms of technical aspects, the paintings are done in acrylic paints on canvas, and stylistically, they are achieved through symbolic realism.

At the exhibition, academic artists Ira Skopljak and Enis Čišić will speak about the author's work. During the exhibition, the public will have the opportunity to see several more of the author's works, which are not thematically related to this cycle, but give visitors the opportunity to see another part of her oeuvre live.

Maja Bajrić was born on September 30, 1982, in Sarajevo. She received her formal art education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, in the class of Professor Radoslav Tadić. In her stylistic interests, she opted for realism in the classical manner, combined with symbolic, expressive, and impressionistic elements. The primary subject of her interest is portraits, followed by depictions of animals and landscapes. In depicting portraits, Maja focuses on achieving a certain emotional state, both through expression and by combining symbolic elements. Maja's color palette is vibrant and extensive. She draws inspiration for it from the decorative elements of Art Nouveau painting, as well as from nature, the behavior of organisms, and the interaction between different organisms and their environment. What drives her creativity is the emotional experience in all its facets.
