Prime Minister Manuel Valls said this morning that French authorities knew Islamists were preparing attacks in France and warned that new ones are being planned across Europe, reports the Patria news agency.
The Prime Minister said that French intelligence officers have foiled and prevented several attacks since the summer, agencies report. The warning comes after police conducted raids overnight and this morning in the homes of people suspected of extremism.
-We are using the legal framework of the state of emergency to question people who are part of the radical jihadist movement... all those who advocate hatred against the Republic, Valls said on RTL radio.
-We knew that operations were being prepared and that they are still in preparation, not only against France but also other European countries, ABC News quotes.
The Prime Minister said that the Paris attacks, in which 132 people were killed, were "planned in Syria".
