Drama in Zagreb: Man who fired shots during eviction surrenders to police

In Preradovićeva Street in Zagreb, gunfire was heard this morning at 10:30 AM. The street was occupied by special police forces, emergency services, and other support services, Croatian media report, as carried by Patria (NAP). 

It is still unclear who fired the shots, but unofficially it is learned that the incident occurred during the execution of a court order for eviction. The police were providing assistance to the persons in charge of the eviction, and the tenant who is supposed to vacate the apartment locked himself inside and refuses to come out.

Shortly after 12:00 PM, the drama at Cvjetni Square in Zagreb ended. The police removed the man, who had started shooting at them and the responsible officials during the eviction procedure, from the apartment.

The man, who was to be evicted along with his wife and 14-year-old child, fired shots at the police, after which he locked himself in the apartment with his wife and child.
