Drama in Teočak: Police officer wounded in shooting, attacker attempted suicide

(Patria) - Great drama unfolded in a shooting in Teočak, during which a police officer was wounded. This information was confirmed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton.

Namely, yesterday around 9:45 PM, the Teočak Police Station received a report from a citizen that domestic violence was allegedly occurring in the house of N.B. from Teočak in the village of Stari Teočak, municipality of Teočak.

"After receiving the report, police officers intervened at the scene, during which the individual N.B. inflicted injuries on police officer Z.A. using a firearm," the statement reads.

The Rapid Intervention Team of the Special Support Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton also intervened at the scene. According to them, N.B. continued to use a firearm, after which he was apprehended by officers of the Special Support Unit and then transported to the Public Health Institution University Clinical Center Tuzla, where he was admitted for treatment due to an injury he inflicted on himself with a firearm, according to initial information.

"Family members, in cooperation with the Center for Social Work Kalesija, have been adequately accommodated. The injured police officer has been admitted for further treatment at the Public Health Institution University Clinical Center Tuzla," it is stated.

The duty cantonal prosecutor has been informed about the incident, while police officers of the Criminal Police Sector of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton, Department for General Crime, are taking the necessary measures and actions. An investigation and other actions are underway to determine the circumstances of the incident under the instructions of the acting cantonal prosecutor.
