This afternoon, a shooting occurred at the train station in Darmstadt in southwestern Germany, local media reported, citing RT, as reported by the Patria news agency.
At least one police officer was injured, and the station is being evacuated. Images of an ambulance arriving at the scene of the shooting have spread on social media.
Darmstadt is a city with a population of 150,000 people, and its main station is one of the busiest in the area, given that over 35,000 people travel through it daily on 220 trains.
Local media report that the attacker has reportedly been subdued and taken into custody, while the motive for the attack is still unknown.
