DRAMA NEAR LIVNO: Protesters say police beat women and children at drinking water protests, arrests made

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Members of the Livno police brought several residents to the Interior Ministry premises who had gathered this morning in the Poljane settlement near Livno to oppose a concession.

After the residents submitted their demands with 250 signatures to the authorities, these days they repeated their request with the help of a lawyer, local media report, adding that no one responded to them and instead of organizing a public hearing, the authorities sent a large number of police officers to confront the residents.

Mirko Krivić, one of the residents, said that the police used force against the protesters, and that one female protester was injured.

“The police forcibly removed us from the location. It is important to note – they are trying to drill a water well next to the location from which we extract drinking water. Our livelihood is threatened,” Krivić told N1.
