Dragan Vikić and Others Finally Acquitted of War Crimes Charges

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - One of the heroes of the defence of Sarajevo during the aggression, Dragan Vikić, has been acquitted of war crimes charges by a final verdict of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

The information was shared on social media by his friend Haris Fazlagić, who has followed and supported Vikić over the past six years.

"An acquittal, finally after nearly six years of suffering and torment," Fazlagić said.

Vikić and others in this case were charged with the murder of eight members of the JNA in Veliki Park in Sarajevo.

The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina had sought a conviction in its appeal against the first-instance verdict, but Vikić, Jusuf Pušina, Nermin Uzunović and Mladen Čovčić were ultimately acquitted.
