Dr. Cerić: Bosniaks know what Palestinians are going through, so we must raise our voices louder against violence!

The shedding of innocent civilian blood must stop immediately, and Bosnia and Herzegovina has a moral obligation to raise its voice louder against the violence in Gaza, announced today Dr. Mustafa Cerić, an independent candidate for the Presidency of BiH, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

- We strongly condemn the latest escalation of violence and Israel's offensive on Gaza. We are deeply concerned about the continuation of the decades-long conflict in the Holy Land - the statement said.

Israeli forces, according to reports from the ground, have launched a new wave of rocket attacks on Palestinian territories that has been ongoing for several days. At least 88 people have been killed, and hundreds have been injured. Images from Gaza, where shells are killing Palestinians while they wait for iftar, have caused shock around the world.

Dr. Cerić says in his statement that the heart of every well-intentioned person breaks when they hear or see such violence.

- All those who have influence, the entire international community must not remain silent in the face of such violence. Killing children, women, and unarmed civilians is unacceptable to common sense. Palestine and the entire Middle East deserve peace and stability, just like any other part of the world. Courage for peace must be shown - the statement by Dr. Cerić reads.

According to him, Bosniaks are particularly sensitive to suffering and aggression, especially in the days when new identified victims of the genocide in Srebrenica are being laid to rest.

- We, Bosniaks, know and understand best what the Palestinian people are going through. Therefore, we expect our country and our political representatives to be at the forefront of those advocating for peace and stability in the Middle East. Their voice must be heard. The state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bosniaks are victims of genocide and have a moral obligation to constantly warn the world that violence, aggression, and genocide must not be tolerated anywhere - Dr. Cerić stated.

He also emphasizes that the rights of Palestinians to freedom and a state should be advocated for sincerely and continuously, and a lasting and just solution should be sought, which includes two states that will respect each other, reports Patria.
