DRIVEN TO DESPAIR Konjic Health Center Doctors Plan to Resign!

(Patria) - Doctors at the Konjic Health Center have submitted a notice to their employer and the institution's founder regarding their planned termination of employment contracts.

As announced by the Konjic branches of the Professional Union of Doctors of Medicine and Dentistry in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, the doctors plan to resign on December 15, marking exactly two months since the Konjic Health Center's accounts were blocked, resulting in employees of the health institution not receiving their salaries since August.

Union representatives have held meetings with the management of the Konjic Health Center and the Konjic General Hospital in recent days, but have not received an answer as to when the accounts might be unblocked.

"The behavior of the management of both institutions is unacceptable. For two months, they have been 'trying' to resolve this situation to the detriment of the employees, exploiting their patience, and driving them to such a desperate act, where employees of a public health institution are forced to resign their employment contracts after two months of agony and four unpaid salaries, while the public is given the impression that the management has nothing to do with the situation these employees have been put in," the statement from the Professional Union reads.

Union representatives stated that they understand the management's situation is not easy, but they remind that the problem of non-payment of contributions, which led to the blocked accounts, dates back to 2007 and 2008, and nothing has been done to resolve this issue to date.

"We want the management of the Health Center and the General Hospital, as well as the founders, to get involved in resolving this problem, so that it doesn't remain with empty promises, but that concrete proposals and their implementation are offered. We hope that all responsible parties will get involved in this and not allow a collapse of both primary and secondary healthcare in the municipality of Konjic," announced the Professional Union of Doctors of Medicine and Dentistry in HNK.
