ENOUGH IS ENOUGH State police officers to protest on May 16: Demanding Budget and changes to the Salary Law!

(Patria) - The Union of Police Bodies in BiH has scheduled a protest in front of the BiH Parliament building on Monday, May 16, on the day the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament is holding a session. According to Patria's findings, the Indirect Taxation Authority Union of BiH will also support the police. Peaceful demonstrations have been announced to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton.

The union of state police officers is demanding the adoption of the Bill amending the Law on Salaries and Benefits in BiH institutions.

At the last session, the Serb Club blocked the adoption of this law, so on May 16, the agenda will include the Collegium Commission's Report on efforts to reach an agreement on the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH's request for the urgent consideration of the Bill amending the Law on Salaries and Benefits in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Furthermore, state-level police (Border Police, SIPA, DKPT) are demanding the urgent proposal of the 2022 Budget.

We remind you that state police officers are still waiting for an increase in the base salary and the establishment of social dialogue.

Otherwise, the Ministry of Finance calculated the base salary at KM 498 in the indicative budget, which is an increase compared to the last nine years, but the Budget for 2022 has not been proposed at all. Representatives of police unions have been warning the authorities for more than 10 years that they are the worst paid in Bosnia and Herzegovina and that there is an increasing outflow of staff from state-level agencies – the State Investigation and Protection Agency, the BiH Border Police, and the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, which directly affects overall security and the effective performance of tasks and duties.
