Donald Trump fires campaign manager

Donald Trump has fired his controversial campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, reports The Guardian.

Sources say Lewandowski was shocked when Trump called him into his office at Trump Tower this morning to deliver the bad news.

The departure of the campaign manager comes at a time when Trump is increasingly struggling to cope with the challenges of entering the general election. After his nomination in early May, Trump saw a sharp decline in popularity and faced numerous questions regarding campaign organization. Some key Republicans, such as John Cornyn and Paul Ryan, have distanced themselves from him. Donald's popularity has also waned following controversial comments about the Mexican heritage of federal judge Gonzalo Curiel, due to which "he has prejudice against him (Trump) in handling the case," as well as the proposal to ban Muslims from entering the US, and the claim that the Muslim community knew about the planned attack in Orlando before it was carried out.

A source for The Guardian states that the trigger for firing campaign manager Lewandowski was a conflict between him and spokesperson Hope Hicks, which Donald's daughter Ivanka did not like.

Another source states that Lewandowski also clashed with Ivanka's husband, Jared Kushner, and even tried to harm him with negative media reports.

After the meeting with his boss, Lewandowski left the building under the escort of Trump's security guards.

The unconventional vision of Donald's now former campaign manager, "Let Trump be Trump," helped the New York real estate tycoon win the Republican primary race against dozens of other candidates. Although traditional campaign organization was lacking, the combination of large rallies and constant media appearances allowed Trump what is considered today the strongest victory in the history of the Republican Party.
