(Patria) - Former US President Donald Trump has pleaded not guilty to an indictment alleging he attempted to overturn the 2020 election results in the state of Georgia.
"As evidenced by my signature below, I hereby waive the formal arraignment and plead not guilty to the indictment in this case," reads the court filing from Thursday, signed by Trump.
This also means he will not have to appear at the hearing scheduled for next week by Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee, AP reports.
The former US president and 18 other individuals were indicted earlier this month on a 41-count indictment describing an alleged scheme to undermine the will of voters in Georgia, where Joe Biden won.
Trump has been indicted four times this year, two of which relate to an alleged attempt to overturn the results of the previous presidential election.
