Health Center Approved to Hire Doctors, but None Available on Employment Service Registry

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Sarajevo Canton Health Center received approval today for new staff, but there are no more general practitioners on the registry of the Sarajevo Canton Employment Service, confirmed acting director of the Health Center, Amela Kečo. 

"We managed to recruit 11 doctors, and we have enough nurses," Kečo told TVSA this morning. 

She announced that a therapeutic COVID clinic should be opened next week within the Hadžići and Ilijaš Health Centers, so that patients no longer have to rely solely on the Ilidža COVID Center. 

Kečo emphasized that all staff from the Health Center have been mobilized, and the cold program, i.e., routine check-ups, have been suspended. They also have additional help from 80 volunteer students in their final year at the Faculty of Medicine in Sarajevo. 

Around 2,000 patients pass through the COVID centers daily, and Kečo urged citizens to take care of themselves so that we can get through the pandemic as quickly as possible. 

A therapeutic clinic for citizens from the Old Town and Center areas will be opened today at the Health Protection Institute for Students, which should relieve the burden on the Vrazova Health Center. 

Citizens will be able to receive intravenous therapy and oxygen support therapy at this therapeutic clinic.
