Domestic ingenuity ahead of imported: Sarajevo bypass one of the most modern in the region

A modern interchange that will connect Sarajevo with Corridor Vc, worth over 23 million KM, has been opened!, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

This is the most important exit from the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the highway that passes by Sarajevo and continues towards Herzegovina.

Before it was completed, companies SCT from Slovenia and Osijek-Koteks from Croatia attempted to build the Sarajevo bypass. Neither of these EU companies managed to complete the job, after which the contracts with them were terminated, and the then-government, still led by Nermin Nikšić, awarded the job to domestic companies Euro-Asfalt and ŽGP.

A year later, Sarajevo got a modern highway exit, which domestic companies completed three months ahead of the contractually agreed deadline. The road was opened on the eve of the Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Sarajevo bypass will stand as a testament that Bosnian and Herzegovinian ingenuity can be ahead of that from the West!, writes Patria.
