Following the earthquake that hit Croatia, specifically Petrinja, at the end of 2020, the building of the Health Center in Bihać was significantly damaged.
Soil testing will be conducted by institutes for geodesy and statics.
The director of this institution, Ademir Jusufagić, told "Avaz" that they are awaiting the final report from the commission.
- In a few days, specifically on February 5th, the tender for soil testing of the ground on which the facility stands will conclude. Soil testing will be conducted by institutes for geodesy and statics and will take a total of one month. After that, we will know what's next for the Bihać Health Center building. That will be the final verdict - says director Jusufagić.
He adds that there is a high possibility that the building will be demolished and that numerous institutions from other cantons have offered their assistance.
Received information that the ground floor is safe.
- The company that conducted the preliminary assessment concluded that the most viable option for the building is its demolition. In that report, we received information that the ground floor of blocks A and B is safe, while block D and floors 2, 3, 4, and 5 are not safe for occupancy. We are currently in the ground floor and the first floor of blocks A and B, with some departments also located in containers placed in the parking lot - director Jusufagić added at the end.
