House of Peoples to adopt amendments to the law, then the FBiH Government to limit electricity prices for businesses

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament will hold an emergency session today starting at 12 PM. 

On the agenda are four reports on the epidemiological situation of COVID-19 in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina as of 1.11.2021 with proposed orders and recommendations from the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health, Report on the epidemiological situation of COVID-19 in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina as of 15.11.2021 with proposed orders and recommendations from the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health, Report on the epidemiological situation of COVID-19 in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina as of 29.11.2021 with proposed orders and recommendations from the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health, Report on the epidemiological situation of COVID-19 in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina as of 13.12.2021 with proposed orders and recommendations from the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health. 

Delegates also have the Proposed Law on Amendments to the Law on Electric Energy in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina under an urgent procedure, and these amendments have already been adopted by the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament. The Association of Employers of FBiH called on delegates to adopt these amendments so that the FBiH Government can limit the price of electricity, given that business entities are receiving offers for 2022 with increased prices of over 300 percent. Many companies have announced layoffs, price increases, relocation of companies to the RS, but also the worst possible scenario of complete shutdown, which will be a major economic blow to both workers and the entire FBiH. 

On the agenda is the Report on the Work of the Energy Regulatory Agency of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – FERK for 2020, as well as the Proposed Financial Plan of the FERK Budget for 2022.
