House of Peoples of BiH PS to adopt Budget for 2022 on Thursday

SARAJevo, (Patria) – The House of Peoples of BiH PS will hold an emergency session on Thursday to consider only one item on the agenda: the Bill on the Budget of Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and international obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2022 (first reading), submitted by the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.

The budget for 2022 was adopted on Monday in the House of Representatives of BiH PS, and most of the criticism concerned the enormous increase in salaries for officials, as the base was increased to 535 KM, and it covers all employees in BiH institutions.

While ministers, deputies, delegates, and representatives will receive salaries increased by up to 500 KM, soldiers and police officers, as well as civil servants, will have their salaries increased by about 80 KM, but the increase will not exceed 100 KM. 

When the Council of Ministers of BiH adopted the base of 535 KM for salary calculation on March 30, it was emphasized that it would be applied next month from the date of adoption of the budget of BiH institutions for 2022.

This means that increased salaries could be calculated as early as July.
