House of Peoples of PFBiH discusses the federal budget for 2020.

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The third extraordinary session of the House of Peoples of the Parliament of FBiH is being held today in Sarajevo, followed by the regular session of the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation. On the agenda of the extraordinary session are two proposed decisions on the Federation's borrowing from a foreign creditor for the realization of the Rehabilitation and Modernization Project of the Čapljina Pumped-Storage Hydroelectric Power Plant, as well as for creating conditions to improve energy efficiency in the Cantonal Hospital in Zenica.

Much more interesting will be the regular session where delegates are to adopt the proposal, in identical text, passed by the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation, for the operationality of the Budget.
The FBiH Budget for next year was proposed by the Federal Government in the amount of 4,954,392,401 KM. Compared to 2019, this is an increase of 83 percent, or 2.25 billion KM.

The main reason for this increase is the integration of the Federal Pension and Disability Insurance Fund into the FBiH budget, whose financial plan for 2020 amounts to approximately 2.4 billion KM.

It is foreseen that the PIO/MIO Fund will receive the status of a budget user.

If the budget and the aforementioned laws are also passed by the House of Peoples, revenues from pension and disability insurance contributions will, from January 1, be an integral part of the Federation's budget, and contributions on this basis will be paid into the Single Treasury Account of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
