Doctor Mioković: JU Dom zdravlja to soon open two new Covid clinics

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Doctor Milan Mioković today announced the most important data related to the work of JU Dom zdravlja KS in the conditions of fighting the pandemic, as well as activities undertaken to reduce queues in front of Covid clinics and improve communication with patients.

He pointed out that during yesterday, 462 patients were examined in the four Covid centers, i.e. clinics, of this public institution, 4,012 samples were taken, and 358 lung X-rays were performed.

"We received 525 calls from patients at the Covid centers and clinics yesterday. As for the swabs, we took a total of 6,700 in the first 10 days of November. Yesterday we took 907 swabs, and the day before 882 swabs, meaning 1,789 swabs in two days," Mioković stated.

He said that there are currently only about 200 swabs in the cold chain, but they will also be analyzed soon, thanks to the contract of the KS Health Insurance Fund with five certified private laboratories in the Canton of Sarajevo.

"Regarding the work of Covid clinics, I responsibly claim that the queues have been reduced, for example, for the Vrazova Covid clinic. Just a moment ago, there was only one patient in front of the clinic. We achieved this by increasing the number of teams working in one shift. We did the same with the Saraj Polje clinic, which has the largest queues. We are also trying to expand the work of Covid clinics, i.e. open two more, in Stari Grad and Novo Sarajevo. Therefore, the procurement of two mobile X-ray machines is underway, and as soon as we acquire them, we will open those clinics," Mioković announced.

He also emphasized that JU Dom zdravlja is trying to improve communication with citizens, as they are aware of the problems in that area.

Negotiations are underway with mobile operators and other legal entities for the procurement of 135 mobile devices for family doctors, as well as employees at triage points and Covid clinics, in order to relieve and improve communication with patients, and facilitate data entry into records through applications developed by ZZO KS.
