Dodik insults Germans, says Putin does a better job than their minister Baerbock

SARAJevo, (Patria) - BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik said that the new German Minister of Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbock, by calling for sanctions against him, shows that she "has no idea about our lives because she has never been here".

In an interview with the German newspaper Welt, Dodik said that he knows what the beginning of a term means and that the new minister has her ambitions.

"The imposition of sanctions does not seem appropriate to me for German democracy. Why should Germany or any other country rule our country? The government should work with democratically elected officials," said Dodik, adding that success is measured at the end, not at the beginning.

Dodik dedicated most of the interview to discussing the High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt, reports Klix.

Dodik said that the Dayton Agreement stipulates that the High Representative must be appointed by the signatories, including Republika Srpska, and confirmed by the UN Security Council.

"None of that happened. I am sorry that Mr. Schmidt has to go through all this. But we absolutely cannot allow someone to impose laws on us just because they are a good person. But my mother is also a good person, she is the best person in the world, but she is not the High Representative," says Dodik.

He emphasized that if Germany imposes sanctions on Russia, it cannot expect Russia to support its proposal for the High Representative.

"I have personally met with Putin many times, including recently. He holds a responsible position. He says he is interested in maintaining peace in BiH at all costs. He respects the Constitution. And he stays away from internal affairs. Not like the German minister," emphasizes Dodik.
