Dodik demands dismissal of minister Dogan, convicted for traffic accident

(Patria) - President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik has requested from the Prime Minister Radovan Višković to urgently dismiss the newly appointed Minister for Family, Youth and Sport Dado Dogan, or for Dogan to resign.

In a letter addressed to Višković, Dodik stated that the Socialist Party made a gross mistake when proposing the Minister for Family, Youth and Sport, and that in accordance with the law and procedures, he urgently requests the Prime Minister's reaction.

Dogan caused a traffic accident and was criminally convicted to a one-year prison sentence for it.

Dogan sent a request to the then President of Republika Srpska Željka Cvijanović to have his name removed from the criminal record, not a pardon as some opposition MPs claim.

The Government of RS was confirmed on Wednesday evening after a multi-hour debate.
