Dodik complained to Trump about Statehood Day greeting

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Chairman of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik sent a letter to US President Donald Trump.

- Your Excellency,

I received your letter regarding, as you stated, the holiday, November 25, Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

As Chairman of the BiH Presidency, I wish to inform you that Serbs as a constituent nation in BiH, Republika Srpska as an entity, and I personally do not perceive this day as Statehood Day, nor is this day regulated as a holiday by any relevant decision. The other two nations within BiH cherish this holiday from the communist era, while Serbs do not perceive it as a holiday.

Unfortunately, the old American administration greatly contributed to this confusion by disregarding the stance of Republika Srpska and the Serbian people on this issue, without whom no decisions can be made in BiH, not even the proclamation and imposition of state holidays.

Your Excellency, as Chairman of the BiH Presidency, I wish to convey my intentions to build sincere and successful relations with the USA, devoid of any speculation. I appreciate you and your policies that aim not to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, and your support for patriotism doctrines worldwide.

I also wish to convey that I advocate for BiH's accession to the European Union as soon as possible, and that no decision on NATO membership has been made, as I and Republika Srpska advocate for military neutrality. As you know, NATO interfered deeply in the war in BiH and bombed Serbs in Republika Srpska.

Dear Excellency, I was delighted by your victory, I follow your views, and I am fully convinced that under your leadership, America will be an even more powerful and prosperous country.

I convey my sincere respect - it is stated in the letter that Dodik sent to Trump.
