Dodik hits the brakes: BiH Armed Forces and Indirect Taxation Authority will not be touched yet, wants to replace German investments with Chinese ones

SNSD President Milorad Dodik seems ready to hit the brakes after all. This is indicated by his statements to the Serbian newspaper Politika, in which he announces that the transfer of competencies regarding the BiH Armed Forces and the Indirect Taxation Authority will be postponed.

He points out that due to the constellation of relations, it would be foolish to "poke someone in the eye".

- They are now accelerating the narrative against Republika Srpska, calculating that the circumstances are very favorable for them during the conflict in Ukraine. Our assessment is that we need to wait a little with some issues, although those who did not dare to participate in the adoption of partially implemented conclusions are now accusing us because of it - said Dodik.

After the High Representative's decision to suspend the entity Law on Immovable Property, Dodik directs all attention to Germany's attitude towards Republika Srpska.

He states that Germany is demanding that the conclusions adopted by Republika Srpska be annulled, while remaining silent that other EU countries, including the US, expect the same from him.

- Logic dictates that we postpone these matters for another six months due to the new circumstances. We are not rushing anywhere, but I can say that all documents are done and ready. We are waiting for the procedure, but we will determine the moment for it - said Dodik.

He remained consistent regarding Russia, positioning himself and his party as the main protectors of Russian interests. In this regard, SNSD will block any introduction of sanctions against Russia.

- I would rather resign than do that. I don't care if the West understands it. It is important that we maintain good or at least correct relations with Russia and remain neutral. If all of us in BiH had asked the West for that, they would probably have understood it - said Dodik.

He states that he notices media and political preparations for the elimination of Republika Srpska and points out that they want BiH to impose sanctions on Russia, which is a guarantor of the Dayton Agreement.

- Russian President Vladimir Putin has always said that he respects the Dayton Agreement and that he can only support us within the framework of that agreement, never outside of it. This means that we cannot have Putin's support in case of secession - said Dodik.

He also stated that the Germans will be given a six-month deadline to decide on the "Hrgud" Wind Farm project, and if they are not willing to continue it, the project will be given to the Chinese.

- Germany has forbidden its company to build the "Hrgud" Wind Farm in Republika Srpska. Do you know how many countries are lining up to build wind farms or are willing to finance them? We will lose loans from Germany, we will find them in China, a country that is ready for expansion - said Dodik for "Politika".

Responding to the question of whether he expects sanctions from Germany, after the US and Great Britain, which accuse him of colluding with Moscow, Dodik said that he serves exclusively Republika Srpska and the Serb people, and that he would be against it if Moscow were to undertake or request anything from Srpska against Serb interests.

Dodik said that he will suspend all British and German projects in Republika Srpska.

- Let them think in Berlin about what it means that they are treating the entities partially. Perhaps it is precisely they who are dividing us further with such a policy - said Dodik.
