Dodik asks Russia to veto Resolution on Srebrenica

The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, announced that he will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in St. Petersburg on June 18 and ask him to veto the adoption of the Resolution on Srebrenica in the Security Council, reports the Patria News Agency.

Dodik told Belgrade's Novosti that the document will further raise tensions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- It is obvious that there will be no common stance in Bosnia regarding this document, which aims to politicize the tragedy and impose quasi-truths about the suffering in Srebrenica. If reconciliation is sought, why are the 3,500 Serb victims, also in the areas around Srebrenica, who were killed by Naser Orić and his men, not mentioned, asks Dodik.

The President of RS also disputes the point of the resolution on "condemning the denial of genocide," which, according to him, aims to force all current and future Serb politicians to apologize anew.
