(Patria) - Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Staša Košarac discussed today in Sarajevo with the Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Šemsudin Dedić and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and the Employers' Association of the Federation of BiH on the need to adopt a decision on the temporary ban on the export of round timber, firewood, and pellets.
The interlocutors agreed that it is a priority to prevent the export of round timber, firewood, and pellets as soon as possible, without conditioning it with previously signed contracts.
"The positions of the competent institutions of Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH on the necessity of adopting this decision are harmonized and identical, which is encouraging news for domestic producers and wood processors," stated Minister Košarac.
He announced that, after consultations with representatives of the competent entity ministries, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH will prepare a proposal for a decision by the end of the current week, which will temporarily ban the export of round timber, firewood, and pellets from BiH.
"We will send the proposal for the decision to the competent institutions for their opinion, so that the decision can ultimately be considered by the Council of Ministers of BiH by the end of this month," emphasized Minister Košarac.
