New Council of Ministers of BiH and Budget Proposal by Year-End

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Chairman of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and President of HDZ BiH, Dragan Čović, said today in Sarajevo that the new Council of Ministers of BiH could be formed by the end of December, specifically by Christmas. 

“I think all the names are ready, for all portfolios,” Čović said, adding that although the verification process is legally defined by time, he believes “there is no reason to consume that time limit in its entirety.”

He emphasized that after the formation of the Council of Ministers of BiH, it will be necessary to complete a large number of tasks related to a huge number of requests, initiatives, and financial resources that are, in a way, tied to the executive and legislative authorities in BiH. 

“What will be my initiative, given that the representative of the Croat people will again be the Minister of Finance, is to proceed with the budget proposal. That is why it would be good to have both the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH before the New Year,” Čović said.

The Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Željko Komšić, also expressed optimism that the new Council of Ministers of BiH will be formed. 

“If things go as they should, BiH could have a new Council of Ministers before the New Year. It is expected that BiH will have a new Council of Ministers formed by the end of this year or the beginning of the next. To be cautious, knowing that Murphy's laws can apply in BiH. I am optimistic that we will complete this task as planned,” Komšić stated.

On Thursday, a session of the House of Representatives of the PS BiH will be held, where the appointment of Zoran Tegeltija (SNSD) as the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH will be confirmed.
