DKPT: Exercise Held for Police Officers

At the headquarters of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, the final tactical demonstration exercise for Directorate police officers in the field of 'Basic procedures for restoring public order and peace in cases of endangering protected persons and facilities' was held, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

In the period from September 30 to October 9, training for Directorate police officers in the field of 'Basic procedures for restoring public order and peace in cases of endangering protected persons and facilities' was held. This training was realized with the help and support of the Embassy of the French Republic in BiH and police instructors from the Gendarmerie of the French Republic. The goal of the training is to train and equip police officers for the adequate and professional performance of tasks and duties within the Directorate's jurisdiction, relating to the protection and security of persons and facilities. Representatives of other police agencies from BiH, as well as representatives of international institutions in BiH, observed the exercise.

The final demonstration exercise was attended by the Ambassador of the French Republic to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Claire Bodonyi. This was also her first visit to the Directorate, during which she met with the Deputy Directors of the Directorate, Uroš Pena and Milo Jurić.

During the meeting, Deputy Directors Pena and Jurić informed the Ambassador about the organization of police forces in BiH as well as the Directorate's responsibilities. They also emphasized the importance of the training held for the Directorate's officers. The acquired knowledge, as well as the exchanged experiences with colleagues from France, will certainly help the Directorate's officers in their daily work, especially in adequately responding to cases of large-scale disturbances of public order and peace that endanger persons and facilities protected by the Directorate.

Ambassador Bodonyi expressed satisfaction with the tactical demonstration exercise held, as well as confidence that the exchange of experiences on this topic was very significant for both police officers from BiH and colleagues from France. She also emphasized the readiness of French experts to continue sharing their knowledge and experience in the field of democratic crowd management within projects financed by the European Union.
