Boy seriously injured in Zenica, shot by younger brother

(Patria) - On Wednesday, 11 June 2025, at 6:30 PM, the Police Station Center in Zenica received a notification that a male child born in 2011 was brought to the Emergency Department of the Cantonal Hospital Zenica, with serious bodily injuries sustained from an air weapon.

As confirmed, the incident occurred in Josipa Dakića Street in the Lokvine settlement, and the injury happened when the boy's younger brother, born in 2013, accidentally fired a bullet from an air rifle, reports Zenicablog.

Officers from the Police Station Center, together with criminal police investigators, immediately arrived at the scene and temporarily confiscated the air rifle used in the incident.

The duty prosecutor was informed of everything, and investigators from the Criminal Police Department of Police Administration I continue working on further documentation of this event.
