Dizdarević: Agricultural land in Smiljevići will be monitored

SARAJevo, (Patria) - At the initiative of Neira Dizdarević, a representative of Our Party in the KS Assembly, the Institute for Agropedology of the FBiH will conduct monitoring and protection of agricultural land near the Smiljevići landfill starting next year.

"People in Smiljevići, in the relative vicinity of the landfill, grow various agricultural crops. Their products have never been checked for contamination," Dizdarević believes.

She adds that they must be enabled to continue farming without fear for their own health.

"The situation was already economically difficult, and engaging in agriculture was highly recommended for those who had the opportunity. During the pandemic, these activities were further intensified. What the state must ensure is that the soil on which planting takes place is not contaminated with substances harmful to human and animal health. This will soon be the case in Smiljevići," said Dizdarević.
