Discovery Channel to Air "One Day in Auschwitz" in 220 Countries on January 25

In honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, observed on January 27, Discovery Channel will air the documentary "One Day in Auschwitz" on Sunday, January 25, at 8 PM, premiering in 220 countries worldwide. The film follows Kitty Hart-Moxon's return to Auschwitz-Birkenau 70 years after her liberation, and was produced in collaboration with Steven Spielberg's USC Shoah Foundation, reports the BH news agency Patria.

The film tells the story of Kitty Hart-Moxon, a woman of Polish-English descent who survived the Holocaust. She was only 16 years old when she and her mother were deported to the notorious Nazi concentration camp. Kitty and her mother miraculously survived two years in a place where the average life expectancy due to hunger, thirst, disease, and hard labor was less than three months. Now 89-year-old Hart-Moxon embarks on an emotional journey back to her former prison with two students, Natalia and Lidia, who are now the same age she was when she was sent to the camp, to share her experiences with them. As their mentor, Hart-Moxon shows that even in the most difficult conditions, it is possible to move forward, step by step.

Zaslav chairs the board of Auschwitz: The Past is Present, a global communication and education program that will support official activities marking the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp.
